Moved in!

I moved in this past Saturday! I still don't have internet there yet so I don't get a lot of chances to update. So far I love being there! I finished painting the kitchen cabinets last night and they look so much better! By the way a razor works great on scraping off peeling paint (much better than my nails). I still have things everywhere, but I'm getting much closer to having it look like a home. Pictures will be posted soon.

On Track

After not getting a whole lot done on Saturday like I hoped, I am back on track! I have my bedroom painted, bathroom painted, and just have a little in the hallway and then the family room and kitchen. Joe even installed the bathroom fixtures he got me. I can't wait to see them! I also am looking forward to getting my stuff in there!!! Saturday is the BIG day!

Progress

I got all the handles off the kitchen cabinets and the new ones fit!!! Problem.... I need to repaint the cabinets or just deal with the fact that you can see the outline from the previous handle. Joe spackled the walls! I'm so glad I'm doing this the right way instead of rushing to paint.

Just starting out!

Well, I'm starting my blog and moving into a new apartment. So, I guess I'll start with my new apartment.

As of Nov. 1st I will be living in a basement apartment which I am now fixing up. The owners are friends and said I could paint and do basically whatever. I love redecorating! So far I've picked out 3 colors from Behr's new color/primer: mojito (green), bleached linen (off white), and urban mist (light blue). I'm also excited to do a chalkboard wall in the kitchen. It was only $12 for a small can of the paint and I know the kids and I will love to draw on it. I'll keep you posted on how well it goes. Today I got the out dated wallpaper border off the bathroom. The spray my dad got me worked great! I just sprayed and peeled.

I also just got an early Christmas present from Joe! A new bathroom faucet and rain shower head in brushed nickel!!! Now that doesn't seem like such a great gift to most girls, but to me it's perfect! I'm so lucky I have a guy that not only can fix things but likes to. (and has good taste too.)
